Sehrai demands release of political prisoners in Ramadan

Srinagar, May 06, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has demanded unconditional release of all political prisoners, lodged in various jails, in the holy month of Ramadan. Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar reiterated his concern over the plight of Kashmiri political prisoners, lodged in different jails in and outside the Valley and demanded their immediate release.

“We again call on the authorities to release all political prisoners in holy month of Ramadan and stop arbitrary detentions,” he said and added that prolonging the detention of prisoners was nothing but a political vendetta to break their resolve. However, he said time has proved that jail inmates have shown tremendous courage and patience despite remaining in prisons and facing hardships for months and years.
