Srinagar, March 28, 2019 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has paid rich tributes to youth martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Shopian and Kupwara districts. Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for the highest standards in Jannah to the deceased souls.
He said Kashmir is a political and humanitarian issue which has to be resolved politically in its historical background and military might would never resolve the dispute. He said people of Kashmir want a peaceful political settlement to the Kashmir dispute for durable peace in the region.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) in a statement in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to noted Kashmiri lawyer, Shaheed Advocate Jaleel Ahmad Andrabi, on his martyrdom anniversary.
The body of 42 years Jaleel Andrabi, a human rights lawyer and pro-freedom political activist, was found in the Kursu Rajbagh area of Srinagar on the banks of the Jhelum River on March 27, 1996. Shaheed Andrabi was detained on March 8 by a Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Indian army which intercepted his car a few hundred yards from his home in Srinagar.
Remembering Shaheed Advocate Jaleel Andrabi, he said that the struggle and sacrifices rendered by him can never be forgotten. He was a courageous and passionate freedom-loving citizen who had dedicated his life for the cause of freedom.
