Senate Pays Tribute to Late Senator Irfan-ul-Haq Siddiqui

Islamabad: The Senate passed a condolence resolution expressing deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Senator Irfan-ul-Haq Siddiqui. Moving the resolution before the House, Deputy Prime Minister Senator Ishaq Dar highlighted Siddiqui’s prominent reputation as a columnist and author of many books.

According to Radio Pakistan, Siddiqui’s political career was closely associated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), where he served as a key intellectual and special advisor on National Affairs to Nawaz Sharif. His roles within the party included serving as the Parliamentary Party Leader of PML-N and the Chairman of Senate Standing Committees on Education and Foreign Affairs.

In recognition of his distinguished services in journalism, literature, and public service, Siddiqui was awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz in 2014. His contributions will be long remembered, and his loss will be deeply mourned by many.

The Senate expressed its deepest sympathies with the bereaved family, acknowledging Siddiqui’s significant impact on both the political and literary fields.
