Islamabad: The Serena Chowk Interchange Project in Islamabad is set to be inaugurated on February 4, signaling the near completion of another major infrastructure initiative in the city. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, during a site visit, directed officials to accelerate the final stages of the project, which includes the completion of two underpasses and ongoing asphalt work.
According to a statement by Press Information Department, the minister emphasized the importance of enhancing the area’s aesthetics through horticulture and the installation of attractive lighting. He also urged the prompt construction of connecting roads to ensure seamless integration with the city’s traffic network.
The Serena Chowk Interchange Project features three underpasses, with one already operational. Naqvi expressed optimism that the completion of this project will address Islamabad’s persistent traffic congestion issues. During the visit, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, briefed the minister on the project’s progress.
Federal Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha and other relevant officials attended the site visit, underscoring the project’s significance to the city’s infrastructure development.
