Maryam Nawaz Sharif Orders Completion of Rawalpindi Ring Road by December

Rawalpindi: Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has mandated that the Rawalpindi Ring Road project be completed by the end of December. During a recent unannounced visit, she also instructed officials to broaden the project’s scope, as she took an aerial tour and visited the Khasala Khurd Rawalpindi Ring Road Camp Office.

According to a statement by Chief Minister of Punjab, the 38-kilometer-long Rawalpindi Ring Road is expected to alleviate longstanding traffic issues and boost economic and business activities in the region. The project aims to facilitate travel for millions of citizens, with assurances that necessary funding will be provided to meet the December deadline.

Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Aamir Khattak, provided a comprehensive briefing to the Chief Minister, detailing the construction of five interchanges at Banth, Chak Beli Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian. The project will include railway bridges, five overpasses, and 21 subways to enhance connectivity.
