Sharmila Faruqui takes notice of theft of sand from protective bund of Mohenjo Daro

Karachi, March 20, 2014 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Culture and Tourism Ms. Sharmila Faruqui has taken serious notice over the news published in Daily Sindh newspaper regarding theft of Sand from protective Bund of world heritage site of Mohen Jo Daro.

Culture department wrote a letter to commissioner Larkana, and demand strict action and lodge FIR against responsible persons and policemen involved in this criminal activity that causing serious threat to Precious Heritage site of Sindh and making it vulnerable. And request to depute responsible officer to inspect the site, record the statement of people and submit the report as soon as possible.

Sharmila Faruqui said that Mohen Jo Daro has a great significance for Sindhi culture and declared World Heritage site by UNESCO since 1980. Happening of such acts will bring bad name on administration as well as Pakistan. It is our core responsibility to protect and preserve the treasure land.
