Sharmila inaugurates photo exhibition to mark 35th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto

Karachi, April 03, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Sindh Culture and Tourism Department today showcased a special photo exhibition to mark the 35th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, at Sadeqain Gallery, Frere Hall, Karachi. More than 200 rare photographs were put on display collected from different public and private sources.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the consultant to the chief Minister Sindh for Culture and Tourism Department, Sharmila Farooqi. Present on the occasion, amongst others, included MPA Sania Naz, MPA Irum Khalid, MPA Shamim Mumtaz, MPA Kausar Parveen, MPA Nusrat Sultana, MPA Yasmeen Butt and people from different walks of life.

The exhibition beautifully depicts through photographic representations the life and contribution of the great political leader for strengthening the democratic norms in the country and the democratic rights of the people of Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharmilla Farooqui said that the photographs were the display of the historical moments. She said that the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto instituted the political vision of democracy and signified to adopt a practical approach with regard to well being of masses.

“The Quaid-e-Awam was the only leader who triggered encouragement among the poor, labour and down trodden to raise their voice for their due rights”, she observed.
