Shutdown in Chadoora, Langate and Tral areas in IOK

Srinagar, August 13, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Chadoora, Langate and Tral areas to mark the first martyrdom anniversary of liberation activist Muhammad Yasin Itoo and rising Indian state terrorism in the territory. All shops and other business establishments are closed while public transport is off the road in these areas.

In Chadoora town of Budgam district, first martyrdom anniversary of Mohammad Yasin Itoo is being observed, today. Mohammad Yasin Itoo alias Commander Gaznavi along with his three associates was martyred by the Indian troops in Awneera village of Shopian on this day in 2017.

A complete shutdown is being observed in Langate area of Kupwara district for the third consecutive day, today, to press the authorities for return of the mortal remains of a local youth martyred by the troops in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district, recently. The youth, belonged to Langate, was among five who were martyred the troops during a cordon and search operation in the area on Thursday. All shops, commercial establishments remained closed in Langate market.

Tral town in Pulwama district remained shut on fourth straight day, today, against the detentions. Eleven people, including students, employees and traders, were detained during a night raid. Most of those detained are relatives and family members of mujahideen. All shops and other business establishments remained closed in the town while traffic was off the roads.
