SIMOSA by Jazz Showcased in Ivey Publishing as Pakistan’s Premier Digital Platform

Karachi: SIMOSA, the flagship digital platform by Jazz, has been featured in an Ivey Publishing business case study titled “Jazz World to SIMOSA: A Blueprint for Digital Transformation from App to Ecosystem.” This study, authored by students from NUST Business School, highlights SIMOSA’s evolution from a basic self-care app into a comprehensive digital lifestyle and community platform.

The transformation journey of Jazz’s original app, Jazz World, into SIMOSA—a multi-faceted digital service—is now an academic model for digital innovation. The app serves roughly 21 million monthly users, offering features such as SIM management, multi-network bundles, recharges, and diverse lifestyle services. These include in-app chat, tax documentation, and utility services such as prayer tools and shopping discounts, along with a built-in social network.

Aamer Ejaz, President of Digital Platforms at Jazz, remarked on the academic interest in SIMOSA, stating that it reflects Jazz’s ambition to surpass utility in creating meaningful digital experiences. “Being featured in Ivey Publishing validates the potential of locally developed tech to solve real-world problems at scale,” Ejaz said.

The inclusion of SIMOSA in global academic curricula underscores its significance as a case study in digital transformation. It exemplifies how telecom companies can innovate user engagement and digital access, particularly in emerging markets like Pakistan.

In alignment with Jazz’s ServiceCo vision, SIMOSA is part of a broader portfolio that serves over 100 million users. This portfolio includes services like JazzCash for fintech, Tamasha for entertainment, Garaj for cloud solutions, GameNow for gaming, and FikrFree for InsurTech. Through these platforms, Jazz aims to enhance everyday life and livelihoods across Pakistan.
