Sindh Governor Joins Sikh Community in Celebrating Vaisakhi Festival

Karachi, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori joined the Sikh community in celebrating the Vaisakhi festival on April 27. The Governor’s participation highlighted the freedom of religious expression for Sikhs and other religious groups in Pakistan. He was welcomed by Mugan Singh, President of the Pakistan Sikh Youth Council, at the event.

According to Sindh Governor House, the Governor and Mugan Singh cut a cake to mark the Vaisakhi festival, symbolizing the Sikh New Year. Governor Tesori extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Sikh community, noting that Pakistan provides complete freedom for people of all religions to celebrate their festivals. He added that the Vaisakhi festival represents the values of unity, equality, and service to humanity, emphasizing that these principles are essential for harmonious coexistence.

The Governor encouraged reflecting on the teachings of Guru Nanak Devji, the founder of Sikhism, who promoted equality, compassion, and selfless service. He expressed his hope that the festival would bring peace and prosperity to the homes and communities of all those celebrating.

Mugan Singh thanked the Governor for attending the Vaisakhi festival, emphasizing the importance of unity among different religious groups. The Governor’s participation in the Sikh celebration was a significant gesture, reinforcing the spirit of religious tolerance and mutual respect in Pakistan.
