Sindh Police to Enhance Financial Oversight and Reform Policing Practices

Karachi: The Sindh Police is set to implement significant reforms to enhance financial management and improve policing standards. These changes aim to address corruption perceptions and increase the efficiency of police operations across Karachi.

According to Sindh Police, IG Memon announced the reforms during a certificate distribution ceremony at the Central Police Office in Karachi, where 90 policemen were recognized for completing an Accountant Course for Head Editors. The initiative mandates trained head editors to oversee financial operations in all Karachi police stations, a model that will soon expand to other districts in Sindh.

IG Memon emphasized the goal of making police stations financially independent to foster more effective policing. He further stated that these steps are part of broader efforts to reform the Sindh Police, acknowledging the need for teamwork and innovation to eliminate corruption and reduce complaints of administrative or financial misconduct within the department.
