Sindh Public Service Commission Annuls Screening Test, Plans Rerun

Karachi: The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has announced the annulment of the initial screening test for the Combined Competitive Examination 2023, held on August 10th, due to an insufficient number of candidates meeting the required performance threshold.

According to Public Service Commission Sindh, a mere fraction of participants achieved over 50% marks, prompting a comprehensive review. In response to the low pass rates, the SPSC convened a Full Commission meeting on August 22, 2024, to deliberate on the outcomes and strategize for the future. The decision to annul the previous results and reconvene a de novo screening test underscores the Commission’s commitment to maintaining rigorous standards and ensuring a fair selection process for filling key administrative positions in the province.

Candidates are encouraged to prepare for the retest, though the Commission has not yet specified a date. The rerun represents a second chance for many aspiring civil servants to meet the standards set by the SPSC and secure positions within the Sindh administration.
