Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority includes awareness move of Prime Minister Youth Business Loan Scheme in its 150 training programs

Lahore, December 23, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) has included the awareness move of the Prime Minister Youth Business Loan (PYMBL) Scheme in its 150 training programs to be held across the country during current year. It was disclosed by Mr. Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, Chief Executive Officer of SMEDA in a press statement issued here today.

He observed that PMYBL Scheme was the best source for educated youth to become part of the nation’s struggle for economic prosperity. We have supplemented the awareness operation of the Scheme by initiating a series of training programs on “How to start a Business” in Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which a comprehensive presentation on PMYBL is also given to the participants, he added.

Muhammad Alamgir Chaudry further told that SMEDA website was popular for bearing complete information about PMYBL including well made pre-feasibility Studies, Business Plans, training videos and Financial Calculators, which are available for free of cost down loading and are thus being down loaded by a number of people daily. He said that total number of persons who visited SMEDA website during 2014 was recorded up to 1.35 million, whereas during current year the number has grown up to 1.58 million till date, which reflects continued interest of the people in PMYBL.

CEO SMEDA informed that the most popular and top five businesses among the pre-feasibility studies uploaded by SMEDA on its website for PMYBL include; Goat Farming, Dairy Farming, Driving School, Poultry Farming and Whole Sale Distribution.

Besides, SMEDA website, a help desk for PMYBL is also working in SMEDA head office, which is approached by a number of walk-ins to have information about the scheme, he said adding that SMEDA had planned to expand rapport with the SME associations to promote awareness on the PMYBL Scheme. He hoped that due to a rise in comfort level of the applicants for PMBYL, the scheme would be receiving increased number of applications for the loan during current fiscal year.
