SMEDA and PITB Partner to Enhance SME Registration Portal

Lahore: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) has formalized a partnership with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to enhance the functionality of its Small and Medium Enterprise Registration Portal (SMERP). The agreement was signed by SMEDA’s CEO, Mr. Socrat Aman Rana, and PITB’s Director General (GDS), Mr. Muhammad Waseem Bhatti, during a ceremony attended by representatives from the business, banking, and public sectors.

According to a statement by Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority, the agreement focuses on upgrading the existing portal to include advanced features such as mobile application development and expanded e-commerce platform linkages. The collaboration aims to improve SME certification processes, grant management systems, and the One Window/Mobile App facility, thus enhancing the SME Registry’s connectivity with other data resources.

Mr. Muhammad Waseem Bhatti, representing PITB, expressed commitment to meeting the objectives outlined by SMEDA. He commended SMEDA’s efforts to leverage information technology in providing world-class online services to local SMEs, praising the forward-thinking approach of SMEDA’s leadership.
