Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has called for comprehensive enhancements to the Parliament Building, aiming to transform it into a national symbol. The Speaker commended the efforts of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and National Assembly officers for their work on improving cleanliness and sanitation. He also directed the expansion of banking services within the Assembly, advocating for negotiations with additional banks to offer comprehensive financial services to Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and staff.
According to a statement by National Assembly of Pakistan, Sadiq emphasized the need for renowned banks to provide essential services, including credit cards. He also ordered separate parking arrangements for various visitor categories and instructed security staff to enforce stricter entrance checks. Furthermore, Sadiq urged the CDA to accelerate operational and infrastructural improvements for the Parliament.
The Speaker approved the creation of a Parliament Museum to serve as a historical and educational resource for visitors.
MNA Bilal Azhar Kayani suggested separate entry lines for MNAs, guests, and staff, proposing a dedicated entrance for the Secretariat. He called for an official circular to enforce these regulations and stressed coordination with the Senate Secretariat for better parking management.
MNA Junaid Anwar Chaudhry echoed the need for enhanced parking facilities and better-regulated access to Parliament House, urging strengthened security measures.
The meeting was attended by senior National Assembly officers, including Secretary General Tahir Hussain and other key officials.
