Muzaffarabad, June 20, 2023 (PPI-OT): Speakers at a conference in Muzaffarabad condemned the confiscation of properties of Hurriyat leaders, detained in jails of India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The conference was chaired by Dr. Waleed Ahmed, Younis Mir, Prof. Amin and Iqbal Khan. Others who addressed the event included Parvez Khan Durrani, Tanveer Durrani, Muslimin Nasir Mir, Waqas Mir, Asif Durrani, Naeem Ahmed War, Chaudhry Iftikhar and Fakhir Ali Mirawar Muhammad Usman. A large number of Kashmiri youth were present in the conference.
The speakers said that confiscation of the property of APHC spokesman Ayaz Muhammad Akbar by India’s notorious investigative agency National Investigation Agency in occupied Kashmir is the worst act of political revenge. They said that Ayaz Akbar had been illegally imprisoned in New Delhi’s Tihar jail since 2017.
Parvaiz Khan Durrani said that NIA had attached more than 175 kanals in Srinagar, 43 thousand kanals in Baramulla, 20 thousand kanals in Bandipora and 18 thousand kanals Ganderbal on the Modi government’s order. The speakers urged human rights organizations to increase pressure on India to stop confiscating Kashmiris’ properties and release detainees without any further delay.
