Special Measures Announced to Boost SMEs in AJK: Haroon

Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for industries and production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, has announced that improving small and medium enterprises’ access to credit and financial facilities is a key focus area of the government. During a meeting with the Chief Secretary of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Haroon stated that special measures will be taken to facilitate SMEs in AJK.

According to Radio Pakistan, Haroon revealed plans for the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) to initiate technical and skills development training programs in AJK after Eid, with an emphasis on empowering women. Additionally, a home-stay model will be introduced in the region, aimed at creating sustainable income opportunities and strengthening the economic position of women.
