Sports Board Punjab to mark Independence Day throughout Punjab

Lahore, August 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): On the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Dr.Mohammed Saleh Tahir ,the Independence Day will be celebrated whole heartedly by all divisions throughout Punjab. Various Division Sports Officers has proposed their sports schedules in connection with the celebration of 14th August, 2013.

“These exhibition matches will enhance the patriotism and motivation among the young generation of Pakistan”, said DG sports Punjab in a meeting with all DO’s regarding the preparations of I’Day celebration.

In Sheikhupura ,Kabaddi,Tug of War, Shooting ball,Badminton,Cricket tapeball,Basketball and Wrestling will be played from 14th-16th August 2013 at Company bagh Sheikhupura, Government high school Sheikhupura, District gymnasium hall Sheikhupura, Basketball court stadium and Jinnah park Lahore road Sheikhupura respectively. In Jhang, the Jashan-e-Azadi Football tournament will be held at Shafqat Shaheed ground at 5PM,the Jashan-e-Azadi Basketball match will be held on 13th August at Government Islamia high school Jhang and Jashan-e-Azadi Wushu competition shall be played at District sports complex Jhang on 14th August at 5PM.

In Narowal, Volleyball, Athletics, Football ,Hockey,Kabaddi,Shooting ball and Taekwondo will be played on the eve of 14th August ,2013 whereas Dera Ghazi Khan will host Volleyball, Shooting ball,Football,Hockey ,Taekwondo,Karate ,Kabaddi and Wrestling on 14th August ,2013 to mark the day enthusiastically.
