SSGC Intensifies Operation Grift, raid on Marriage hall, Owner arrested

Karachi, February 14, 2020 (PPI-OT):Intensifying operation girft SSGC’s SS and CGTO team conducted a raid in Orangi Town Karachi on Arena Marriage Hall. SSGC task force arrested owner of the Wedding hall, Muhammad Husain, who was stealing gas from direct supply line of SSGC. While his partner Fahim evaded arrest and ran away from the premises. All equipment being used for stealing gas, including 20KV Generator, and pipes, was taken in custody. FIR was registered against the culprits and further action will be taken against them.

Another operation was carried out in multiple regions of Karachi, where three cases were identified which were involved in direct theft of gas from domestic lines for commercial purpose. Meter and regulators were removed and claims will be lodged against the culprits accordingly. CGTO Chief, Brig. (R) Muhammad Abuzar says that SSGC is a national organization and natural gas is a national asset, therefore, no one will be allowed to steal gas which is a major contributor to the increase of UFG (Unaccounted for Gas). Further he added that this operation against gas thieves will be intensified to bring miscreants to justice in future.
