Karachi: The stock market experienced a modest uptick on Thursday, with the KSE30 and KSE100 indices posting gains over the previous trading session. The KSE30 index rose by 145.67 points, reaching 46,499.67, while the KSE100 index increased by 463.85 points to close at 152,665.72.
Both indices recorded highs and lows during the trading session. The KSE30 hit a peak of 46,741.97 and a low of 46,368.82, whereas the KSE100 reached a high of 153,411.06 and a low of 152,264.97. The percentage gains for the indices were 0.31% for KSE30 and 0.30% for KSE100.
Market turnover and traded value, however, showed a decline. Regular market turnover decreased from 1,043,232,122 to 954,327,333, with traded value falling from 51,308,475,436 to 46,053,297,660. Similarly, the futures market saw a reduction in turnover from 225,641,500 to 202,462,000, along with a traded value drop to 10,885,858,425 from 11,346,643,815.
Market capitalization saw a slight increase, rising to 17,982,608,503,778 from 17,963,721,389,445. Despite the reduction in turnover and traded value, the overall market capitalization demonstrated resilience.
