Students protest against Citizenship Amendment Act in Delhi

New Delhi, January 21, 2020 (PPI-OT): In India, students from several universities held protest demonstrations in New Delhi calling on the government to rollback discriminatory Citizenship Amendment Act. The protesters under the banner of ‘Young India against CAA-NRC-NPR, appealed the supreme court to abolish the law.

They said the government must focus on issues like poverty, education, slowing economy and unemployment rather than bringing in some law that divides the country. Meanwhile, critics have also questioned Muslim exclusion calling it discriminatory law and a deliberate attempt to target them with a larger political agenda.
