Suspicious Object Halts Traffic on Key Road in Kashmir

Srinagar: Traffic on the Handwara-Baramulla road in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir has come to a standstill following the discovery of a suspicious object early this morning. The incident occurred in the Kralgund area of Kupwara district, causing significant disruption along this crucial route.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the object was detected near Thorkerpora on the Baramulla-Handwara road by personnel from the Indian forces during a routine search operation. Following the discovery, authorities immediately halted traffic and summoned a bomb disposal squad to assess and safely handle the situation.

An Indian police official has confirmed the deployment of the bomb disposal team to the site, and traffic will remain suspended until it is deemed safe to resume. The situation continues to develop as security forces work to ensure the safety of the area.
