SZABIST students tour Safe City Islamabad, learn about advanced security measures

Islamabad, Traffic volunteer students from SZABIST University were given an inside look at the high-tech security measures in place at Safe City Islamabad, as part of a visit organized by the Islamabad Capital Police. The tour included demonstrations of the command and control center, data hub, and various security technologies aimed at enhancing the city’s safety and operational efficiency.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the students were welcomed by the Deputy Director Technical on behalf of the CPO Safe City/Traffic. During their visit, they explored several critical areas of operation including the Police Operations Center, Emergency Control Center, and the dispatch and control units. Additionally, the students received a comprehensive briefing on the functionality and strategic importance of the “Pucar-15” helpline and the E-Challan System.

The delegation was particularly informed about the role of modern cameras and face recognition technology, which have been pivotal in securing the city’s entry and exit points, as well as in crime prevention and resolution—leading to 42% of city crimes being solved through the Safe City initiative.

The visit was a testament to the effective application of technology in law enforcement and community safety. The students expressed their appreciation for the insightful experience and the opportunity to understand the advanced systems that assist the Islamabad Capital Police in their duties.
