Teenage boy injured in Uri explosion

Srinagar, March 28, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, a 16-year-old boy was injured in a littered explosive blast in Baramulla district.

16-year-old Mohammad Maqsood Mir was injured after some explosives went off when he was clearing the field at Danisayyidan in Uri area of the district, a senior police officer in Baramulla told media men. He said Masood received injuries in his leg and was hospitalized.

Locals said the blast was powerful and shook residential houses in the area. During more than two years, police records maintain that littered explosives led to death of around 30 persons.

Meanwhile, a National Conference activist identified as Nooruddin Khan (50) was shot and injured at Bongam Haihama in Kupwara. Noor sustained minor injuries in his right arm and was hospitalized, a police spokesman said

Indian police arrested two persons and launched manhunt to nab the Indian Territorial Army (TA) man involved in the attack.
