The Advisory Committee held regarding the golden jubilee celebrations finalized the location for the constitutional monument – the come Pakistan memorial will be constructed in front of the parliament lodges

Islamabad, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): National Assembly’s Advisory Committee meeting regarding celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the National Assembly in a grand manner was held at the Parliament House on Thursday under the chairmanship of former Chairman Sen. Mian Raza Rabbani. A detailed review of the preparations and progress made so far to celebrate the Golden Jubilee celebrations in a grand manner was made.

The committee finalized the proposal to construct the Constitutional Memorial of Pakistan in front of the Parliament Lodges. The decision of the committee was taken unanimously by the Advisory Committee formed to oversee the preparations for the Golden Jubilee of the Constitution of 1973. This location was selected after careful consideration of the proposals given by the Capital Development Authority in the committee meeting.

The committee participants said that this monument will be known and recognized as a symbol of Pakistan’s commitment to democracy and adherence to the principles enshrined in the constitution. The committee expressed the hope that this memorial will become a historical landmark of the capital and guide future generations about the Constitution of Pakistan.

The convenor of the committee while speaking expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far regarding the Golden Jubilee celebrations. *He said, “Constitutional monument is an important project that will showcase Pakistan’s achievements and its commitment to democracy. I am happy that the advisory committee has finalized the design. Expressed hope that this memorial will be a source of pride for all.

The committee decided that the foundation stone laying ceremony of the monument will be held on April 10, 2023. They hoped that the monument would be completed before August 14, 2023.

Asia Azim, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Speech Competitions established by the Advisory Committee informed the committee about the progress made so far in connection with speech competitions held in educational institutions across the country. The committee appreciated the role of Ms. Asia Azim in organizing the elocution competitions.

Members of Parliament Kamran Murtaza, Dr. Nafeesa Shah, Engineers Sabir Hussain Qaim Khani, Ms. Asia Azim, Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Farhatullah Babar, Zafarullah Khan and government officers of the National Assembly and related departments participated in the meeting.
