Pakistan Stock Exchange Sees Steady Growth in Market Capitalization and Index Performance in First Half of 2024

Karachi, In the first half of 2024, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE) demonstrated a steady increase in market capitalization and performance across major indexes, according to the latest data. From November to April, market capitalization rose from Rs. 8,729,523.266 million to Rs. 9,746,961.299 million, reflecting robust investor confidence and a bullish market trend.

In November, the listed capital was recorded at Rs. 1,656,800.393 million, and the KSE 100 Index, a benchmark stock market index, stood at 60,531.270. The KSE All Share Index was at 40,324.280. Turnover of shares reached 14,056.434 million in the ready market and 3,686.656 million in future contracts.

December saw further growth, with listed capital increasing to Rs. 1,665,476.972 million. Market capitalization ascended to Rs. 9,062,902.809 million. The KSE 100 Index rose to 62,451.040 and the All Share Index to 41,916.270. The turnover of shares surged to 21,165.662 million in the ready market and 5,347.305 million in future contracts, indicating heightened trading activity.

By January, the listed capital marginally increased to Rs. 1,669,726.507 million and market capitalization to Rs. 9,073,759.924 million. The indices saw slight adjustments, with the KSE 100 at 61,979.180 and the All Share at 41,892.680. Share turnover in the ready market was reported at 11,737.426 million and in future contracts at 4,167.581 million.

In February, the listed capital stood at Rs. 1,671,335.883 million, with market capitalization climbing to Rs. 9,225,160.480 million. The KSE 100 Index increased to 64,578.520 and the All Share Index to 42,840.890. The turnover of shares decreased to 7,190.089 million in the ready market and 2,884.350 million in future contracts.

March data showed continued growth, with listed capital at Rs. 1,673,001.673 million and market capitalization reaching Rs. 9,447,694.312 million. The KSE 100 Index improved to 67,005.110 and the All Share Index to 44,562.880. Share turnover was slightly up at 7,673.191 million in the ready market and 3,080.374 million in future contracts.

April marked the highest gains, with listed capital at Rs. 1,675,353.476 million and market capitalization at an impressive Rs. 9,746,961.299 million. The KSE 100 Index rose to 71,102.550 and the All Share Index to 46,554.240. Turnover of shares in the ready market was 9,177.241 million and in future contracts was 3,096.993 million.
