Traders delegation visits LCCI

Lahore, January 13, 2017 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry is committed to get the miseries of the trading community reduced and approaching the concerned forums for this purpose.

The LCCI President Abdul Basit was talking to the delegation of traders here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Baber Mahmood. The LCCI Executive Committee Member Shahid Nazir also spoke on the occasion.

The LCCI President informed the visiting delegations that the Lahore Chamber also tries to secure a business-friendly environment through sharing views with the government. The primary objective of LCCI is to protect the interests of the business community while remaining committed to the cause of development of the country. There are a number of issues that must be tackled on priority.

Abdul Basit said that the LCCI is also calling for early solution of the issues like double taxation, high number of taxes and duties, raids at business premises and bank account attachment etc as economy cannot grow in the presence of such major issues.

He said that government should contain widening gap between exports and imports by reducing import of luxury items. He said that the cut in the low input cost would make Pakistani products competitive in the international market where Pakistan was losing the international markets to China, India and even Bangladesh”, the LCCI President said adding that new markets and new products need to be explored to reduce country’s dependence on few commodities and countries. The LCCI is going to establish more than 100 sector specific Standing Committees which would collect private sector feedback, analyses and filter the same through experts.
