Traders demand construction of bridge over Nullah in G-9/4 Market Islamabad

Islamabad, March 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): A delegation of Traders Welfare Association, G-9/4 Peshawar More Market, Islamabad led by its President Haji Nisar Langah and Secretary General Dr. Tehzeeb ul Hasan visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss matters of mutual interest and highlight their problems.

Welcoming the delegation, Khalid Chaudhry, Senior Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that business community of the federal capital is facing many problems and it is high time that traders should develop unity in their ranks to make concerted efforts for resolution of their problems. He said business community should contribute maximum for the development of the local economy as well as the city of Islamabad.

He said due to non-availability of bridge over Nullah, I and T Center, G-9/4 Market is divided into two parts and this situation is creating problems for traders as wellas the customers. The construction of bridge was promised many times in the past, but it has not been constructed for the last 40 years.

He called upon the Chairman and Member Engineering CDA to release funds for the construction of said bridge without further delay. He said water supply system, footpaths, street lights and filtration plants in the area also need urgent attention of CDA for repair.

Speaking at the occasion, Haji Nisar Langah, President and Dr. Tehzeeb ul Hasan, Secretary General of Traders Welfare Association, G-9/4 Peshawar More Market, Islamabad assured their complete cooperation to ICCI.

They said 10% quota was reserved for Islamabad traders in every residential sector of CDA, but the civic body has eliminated that quota due to which traders are facing residential problems. They appealed to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to issue orders for the restoration of traders’ quota in residential sectors of CDA and play his role in resolving traders’ residential woes.

They also requested for shifting of a sensitive Head Office from near Peshawar More as existence of such sensitive nature of offices near residential and commercial areas could pose security problems for the traders and citizens of concerned area.

Khalid Mehmood Mian, President ICT Chamber of Small Traders, Rana Abdul Qadeer President G-10 Markaz, Syed Adil Anis President Melody Market, Naveed Malik, Saeed Ahmed Bhatti and others also spoke at the occasion.
