Traffic Disruption Strands Thousands on Srinagar-Jammu Highway

Srinagar, A significant halt in traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway has left thousands of individuals stranded, creating a standstill situation on this crucial artery connecting the Kashmir Valley to the rest of India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the sudden closure near the Chenani-Nashri tunnel has impacted countless travelers and halted the transportation of goods, with numerous vehicles, including family cars and freight trucks, stuck on the road. The disruption is attributed to urgent repair works required on a deteriorated section of the highway at Dalwas.

A traffic police representative elaborated that the road’s poor condition necessitated immediate maintenance to ensure traveler safety. Authorities have prioritized the repairs to facilitate the resumption of traffic flow as swiftly as possible, emphasizing their commitment to minimizing inconvenience and ensuring the road’s reliability.
