Islamabad: Ambassador of Trkiye to Pakistan, Irfan Neziroglu, has stated that the Government of Trkiye views Pakistan’s stability and progress as integral to the strength of the wider Muslim Ummah. He expressed these views during a meeting with Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, in Islamabad today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on bilateral relations, interfaith harmony, religious and cultural cooperation, and other matters of mutual interest. The Turkish Ambassador appreciated the long-standing fraternal relations between Trkiye and Pakistan, describing them as a valuable asset for both nations. He noted that Trkiye continues to extend cooperation to Pakistan in various sectors, with more than 700 welfare and development projects completed across the country.
The Ambassador lauded Pakistan’s efforts for peace in the Middle East, emphasizing that unity and cooperation among Muslim countries are essential to address shared global challenges. He reaffirmed Trkiye’s commitment to standing by the people of Pakistan in difficult times, describing it as a matter of duty and brotherhood.
Both sides expressed the desire to further strengthen relations at the governmental and people-to-people levels and advance shared goals of development, prosperity, and regional cooperation. During the meeting, the Minister highlighted the deep-rooted historical, religious, and cultural ties between Pakistan and Trkiye. He mentioned that both nations are bound not only by diplomatic relations but also by shared values, spiritual heritage, and the teachings of Sufi saints, which continue to connect their peoples through strong bonds of friendship and mutual respect.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf praised Trkiye’s leadership for its efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East. He also briefed the Turkish envoy on Pakistan’s stance and contributions to regional and international peace efforts.
