Turkish President Erdogan Visits Islamabad for Strategic Talks

ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Islamabad for a two-day official visit, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between Türkiye and Pakistan.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Erdogan was received at the Nur Khan Airbase by Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The Turkish leader was honored with a 21-gun salute, and schoolchildren in traditional attire greeted him, underscoring the warm welcome.

The Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighter jets provided an aerial salute to Erdogan’s aircraft upon its entry into Pakistani airspace, escorting it to the capital. This gesture highlights the strong defense ties between the two nations.

During his visit, President Erdogan is set to hold talks with both the Pakistani President and Prime Minister. He will also participate in the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council and the Pakistan-Türkiye Business Forum.

Furthermore, the Turkish President is expected to attend a signing ceremony where various memorandums of understanding and agreements will be formalized, covering multiple sectors of mutual interest.
