Two Kashmiri dry fruit sellers harassed in UP

Lucknow, February 02, 2023 (PPI-OT):Two Kashmiri youths, who sell dry goods in Lucknow, claimed that unknown persons threw bags of dry goods worth thousands of rupees into the Gomti River. A resident of Srinagar, claimed that he sold dry fruits on Thursday just like he did every day. “First, some police officers arrived and ordered me to leave the area, which I did. In the meantime, a group of men arrived in a car and dumped four bags of dry fruits into the river. A box of Kesar and almonds worth Rs 55,000 was inside the bag,” said Momin.

Adil, another Kashmiri man, claimed he has been selling dry fruits in Lucknow for the past two months in order to pay his B.com tuition back in Kashmir. “After a programme, the police ordered us to leave the area, so we were keeping all of our packed goods to one side when some people came and dumped them in the river”, he claimed.
