UNA chief attending International Islamic Unity Conference in Makkah

Makkah � Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) Issa Khaireh Robleh is taking part in the activities of the International Islamic Unity Conference kicked off in Makkah on Wednesday, under the theme of “Risks of Classification and Exclusion”.

The director general held a series of coordination meetings with a number of participants in the conference being organized by the Muslim World League (MWL) under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.

The conference will discuss unifying the word of Muslim scholars and preachers, bringing closer together their views, and asserting their responsibility for the unity of the Muslim ranks.

The participants will also discuss ways of spreading the values of moderation, deepening the bonds of fraternity and harmony among Muslims and rejecting the rhetoric of hostility and division. They will also review the issues of doctrinal privacy, cultural diversity, obstacles to Islamic unity, and civilizational partnership with non-Muslims, as well as ways to combat Islamophobia and the sectarian calls aimed at spreading takfiri and extremist ideologies.

The conference is being attended by more than 1000 religious, intellectual and academic leaders from 127 countries to develop a comprehensive strategic plan to address the campaigns of hatred and sectarian conflict.
