UNDP and Gilgit-Baltistan Rural Support Program Collaborate to Address Climate Change Impact

Islamabad: The United Nations Development Program Pakistan and Gilgit-Baltistan Rural Support Program have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to address the effects of climate change in the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, the signing ceremony was held at the UNDP Country Office in Islamabad. GBRSP General Manager Ashfaq Ahmed and UNDP Resident Representative Dr. Samuel Rizak signed the agreement.

The project aims to protect the vulnerable population of the mountainous areas from climatic hazards and strengthen the early warning system to manage hazards such as floods, glacial lake outbursts, and landslides in a timely manner.
