UNIDENTIFIED GUNMEN KILL 2 POLICEMEN IN PAKISTAN

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, At least two policemen were killed today in an attack by unidentified gunmen in south-western Balochistan province of Pakistan.

The attackers opened fire at the vehicle of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hameedullah Dasti on Sumungli Road of provincial capital Quetta.

Police said that the two of the policemen escorting the DSP were killed. They were identified as Muhammad Thair and Ayoub shah.

Dasti remained unhurt.

The attackers fled when police fired at them.

Police launched a manhunt to arrest the attackers.

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo strongly condemned the attack and ordered an inquiry into it.

Nobody claimed responsibility of the attack but Baloch nationalist groups and Taliban militants often carry out such targeted attacks.
