Union of Small and Medium Enterprises felicitates Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim for merging his faction with Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz

Karachi, May 26, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) felicitated Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim president of his faction of the like minded Muslim Leaguers for merging with the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and welcomed it as the right decision.

President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver said the union members hold Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim in high esteem and respect because of his honesty, integrity and high values and are very happy to learn of the merger of like minded Muslim leaguers in PML-N for the sake of unity and termed it as a wise positive step and wished him and his group good luck and bright prospects.

He urged Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim to impress upon the need to strengthen the small to medium sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) and farmers as they are Pakistan and asserted that 99% are SMEs. They are the life line of Pakistan, the backbone of the economy, the engine of growth and the vehicle for employment.

He said Pakistan will prosper if they prosper and their promotion and development will strengthen the economy as they are involved in farming, trading, manufacturing and services and their interest needs to be protected.

He urged Dr Arbab Rahim to ensure that the requirements of SMEs are met on priority basis. The SMEs need law and order, peaceful environment, energy, finance at affordable mark up, uninterrupted supply of raw material, land at concession, information/business intelligence and education, support and guidance on marketing and logistics.

The union recalled that during his tenure as chief minister Dr Arbab Rahim promoted the SMEs and made arrangements for their developments on fast track basis with the help of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and the Sindh Small Industries Development Corporation (SSIDC).
