Kashmiri refugees rally in Muzaffarabad, demand UN-organized referendum

Muzaffarabad, A large rally was held in Muzaffarabad today by Kashmiri refugees, calling on the United Nations to facilitate a referendum in Jammu and Kashmir in line with its resolutions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the rally saw significant participation from diverse segments of the refugee population, including children, the elderly, and women. The demonstrators voiced strong opposition to India’s actions in the region and expressed support for freedom and alignment with Pakistan. The rally started at Shaheed Burhan Wani Chowk and concluded at the United Nations Observer Office in Muzaffarabad, with chants advocating for Indian withdrawal from Jammu and Kashmir and the region’s right to self-determination.

Additionally, the protesters urged the International Court of Justice to intervene promptly to halt what they referred to as war crimes by India in the occupied territory. The slogans raised during the march emphasized the refugees’ determination to achieve freedom and their rejection of Indian control over the region.
