United Bank Limited plans to extend help to earthquake victims

Karachi, October 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): The recent earthquake in the area of Awaran in Balochistan has left innumerable homes devastated and livelihoods destroyed in its aftermath. It has adversely affected thousands of lives and left countless people homeless in the face of a harsh environment and a fast approaching winter.

UBL as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility has decided to build a village in the affected area to provide much needed relief and shelter to the displaced. The bank has dedicated resources especially so that those who have lost their homes can be given new homes in the shortest possible time.

“We at UBL want to extend help to our brothers and sisters in need in Awaran. The ‘’UBL Village‘’ is our effort towards rehabilitation of the earthquake victims enabling them to move on with their lives and start anew towards a better future”, commented Mr. Atif R Bokhari, President and CEO, UBL on the proposed project, “UBL’s vision is to continue to work towards providing relief and a better future to people adversely affected by natural calamities in Pakistan”.
