Property Seizure Escalates Tensions in IIOJK

Jammu, In a controversial move, the New Delhi-controlled State Investigation Agency (SIA) has seized the property of Abdul Hameed Khan in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the SIA justified this seizure by alleging Khan’s involvement in pro-freedom activities. This action reflects a broader pattern since the Modi government’s 2019 revocation of IIOJK’s special status, where properties are increasingly confiscated based on accusations of supporting freedom movements. This policy has heightened tensions and drawn criticism for undermining the rights of Kashmiri residents.
