United Nations Marks 79th Anniversary with Public Celebration in Pakistan

Islamabad: The United Nations celebrates its 79th anniversary today, honoring the founding principles established with the ratification of the UN Charter on October 24, 1945. To mark the occasion, the United Nations in Pakistan will host a public event on Saturday at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts in Islamabad, celebrating the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the UN.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the event will feature a “UN Market Place” showcasing the contributions of 23 UN agencies active in Pakistan. Additionally, a special exhibition will highlight the historic ties and collaborative achievements between Pakistan and the UN. The family-oriented event aims to engage the public in appreciating Pakistan’s role and contributions to the global institution over the decades.
