Multan, June 12, 2015 (PPI-OT): US ambassador in Pakistan Mr. Richard G Olson assured that he would meet the exporters, importers, industrialists, traders and manufacturers of Multan during his next visit to Multan which is expected in winter. He was exchanging views with MCCI President Mian Iqbal Hassan here before his departure to Islamabad. He said that there is a great potential for stronger economic and trade ties between the US and Pakistan and both countries can play a vital role to further enhance bilateral trade in future.
The US ambassador said a large part of US assistance to Pakistan was focused on energy as it was alive to the issue. “The US government is committed to help solve the economic challenges being faced by Pakistan,” he added. He said it was a happy sign that the private sector in Pakistan was doing well despite a number of challenges.US Consul-General Zachary Harkenrider was also present there.
