UNSC Acknowledges Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Efforts

Islamabad: The UN Security Council has acknowledged Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts underlining the serious threat posed by TTP operating from Afghan sanctuaries.

According to Radio Pakistan, The acknowledgement has been expressed by the Security Council’s Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team in its sixteenth report.

The report rejected the claims of Afghanistan’s interim government that Afghan soil is not being used for terrorism. It identifies TTP as the most serious and immediate threat to Pakistan, saying that the group enjoys sanctuaries and support from elements within the Taliban.
