VEON and Jazz Leadership Visit National Emergencies Operation Center in Islamabad

Islamabad: A high-level delegation of VEON and Jazz leadership visited the National Emergencies Operation Center at the National Disaster Management Authority headquarters in Islamabad today. The delegation was led by Kaan Terzioglu, CEO of VEON Group, and Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik and the NDMA team provided a briefing on the NEOC’s capabilities for disaster monitoring, preparedness, and response. The visit highlighted Jazz’s role as a critical infrastructure partner in early warning systems, emergency communications, and disaster response.

The partnership between NDMA and Jazz has already resulted in the delivery of more than 300 million early warning alerts for heat waves, rains, and floods, alongside active relief support during major calamities. The delegation expressed appreciation for NDMA’s proactive disaster management approach and stressed the importance of private sector support in enhancing disaster resilience.

This engagement reflects a shared commitment between NDMA and Jazz-VEON to leverage digital infrastructure and innovation to protect lives and livelihoods, and to strengthen national resilience against increasing climate and disaster risks.
