Water and Power Development Authority dominates 1st SNGPL All Pakistan Ranking Tennis Championship; clinches all three titles

Lahore, June 12, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) players reigned supreme in the 1st SNGPL All Pakistan Ranking Tennis Championship, played here at Cosmo Club, Bagh-e-Jinnah under the aegis of Pakistan Tennis Federation, as they bagged all three titles of the championship.

On the concluding day, Aqeel Khan of WAPDA beat Shehzad Khan of the same department by 6-4 and 6-3 in the Men’s Single final. Earlier, WAPDA players also clinched Men’s Double and Women’s Single titles in the championship.

In the Men’s Double final, Shehzad Khan and Yasir Khan of WAPDA defeated Aqeel Khan and Heera Ashiq, who also belong to WAPDA, by 6-4 and 6-3. Similarly, in Women’s Single final, WAPDA’s Khunsha Babar overpowered her co-department player Noor Malik by 7-5 and 6-2. The players belonging to WAPDA, Pakistan Air Force, ZTBL and SNGPL participated in the 6-day championship.
