Islamabad: World Suicide Prevention Day is being observed today to provide commitment and action to prevent suicide. This initiative aims to address the critical issue of suicide and promote meaningful conversations that can lead to prevention.

According to Radio Pakistan, this year’s theme is “Changing the Narrative on Suicide” with the call to action, “Start the Conversation.” The focus is on encouraging open discussions about suicide to reduce stigma and foster a supportive environment for those affected.

Suicide remains a major public health challenge, resulting in more than seven hundred thousand deaths each year globally. The observance of this day highlights the urgent need for collective efforts to address this issue and support individuals and communities in crisis.
