14 outlaws arrested; drugs and weapons recovered 

Islamabad, February 07, 2023 (PPI-OT):Islamabad capital police apprehended 14 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said. He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.

Following these directives, the Golra police team arrested an accused namely Sajeel Akbar involved in illegally selling petrol. Likewise, the Tarnol police team arrested two accused namely Basit Gul and Usama Mehmood involved in possessing illegal weapon and recovered two 30 bore pistols with ammunition from their possession.

Similarly, the Sangjani police team arrested three accused namely Muhammad Iqbal, Musa and Arshad Mehmood involved in drug peddling and recovered 480 gram hashish and 820 gram heroin from their possession. The Sabzi Mandi police arrested an accused namely Arbab Ahmed involved in illegal gas filling.

Moreover, the Noon police team arrested three accused namely Muhammad Ishtiaq, Bismillah and Kausar Mehmood involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapon and recovered two pistols with ammunition and 570 gram hashish from their possession. The Nilore police team arrested an accused namely Shakeel Akhtar involved in possessing illegal weapon and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession.

Furthermore, the Sihala and Lohi Bher police teams arrested two accused namely Naseer Ahmed and Humayun Afzal involved in illegally gas filling and petrol selling. During the crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders, the Islamabad capital police teams arrested one absconder and proclaimed offenders from different areas of the city. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.

IGP Islamabad directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. The performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis, he maintained.
