4 arrested during raid at `Sheesha Center’ in Bahria town

Islamabad, January 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): Loi Bher police on Monday raided at `Sheesha Center’ situated in Bahria town and nabbed 14 persons including its manager, a police spokesman said. Following the information, DSP (Rural) Malik Tahir Mehmud constituted special team headed by SHO Loi Bher police station Inspector Qaisar Niaz Gilani including ASI Ghulam Rasool and others.

This team raided at `Kasas Sheesh Center’ in Civic Center Bahria town and nabbed 14 persons including its manager Bilal. Other nabbed persons were identified as Rizwan Mohsin, Khursheed Ahmed, Naveed Ashraf, Hamza Mughal, Danish Murtaza, Sohaib Riaz, Ahmed Hassan, Furqan, Qadoos, Habib Riaz, Hanif Rehman, Kasham and Shah Rukh Sultan. It is to mention that Anti-smoking drive has been launched in the city to ensure the implementation of anti-smoking law, 2002.

Police team recovered four `Huqqas’ and other smoking items from them. SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan has appreciated this effort of Loi Bher police and directed all police officials to continue efforts against those involve in misguiding our youth. He said that smoking has been prohibited at public places under the law and sheesha smoking causes great health hazards.

He directed police officials to conduct surprise checking in their respective areas to eradicate sheesha smoking. He said that Islamabad police would not allow smoking or sheeesha smoking at any public place in the city and the violators would be dealt with an iron hand
