72 motorcycles, seven vehicles were shifted in police stations

Islamabad, January 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): Islamabad police on Monday conducted general holdup in the city and impounded seven vehicles and 72 motorcycles in different police stations for being driven without authentic documents, a police spokesman said on Monday.

According to the details SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan directed all SDPOs and SHOs to keep vigilant eye on the mischievous elements, tighten security at pickets and enhance patrolling in different areas of the city. Following these directions, the different police stations of Islamabad conducted general holdup in their respective areas and impounded seven vehicles and 72 motorcycles in police stations. Besides, black papers were removed from six tinted glass vehicles.

During search operation in various areas of the city, police nabbed 18 suspects from whom investigation is underway. The actual aim of this general holdup is to maintain law and order situation in the capital and to curb the criminals’ activities. SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan has appreciated this performance of police officers and directed to further enhance security in their respective areas so that the miscreants and mischievous elements could not get success in their criminal activities.
