Islamabad Police performed rehearsal to meet any kind of emergency situation through SOS call

Islamabad, January 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Police on Saturday performed rehearsal to meet any kind of emergency situation through SOS call. Senior officials including Bomb disposal squad, police commandos, rescue 15, Operation Division, Logistic Division, Traffic Division, CDA Fire Brigade and ambulances participated in the rehearsal.

According to details, on the special directives of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Inspector General of Islamabad Police (IGP) Sikandar Hayat has prepared a comprehensive SOP. According SOP, a fake call made that three terrorists entered in Security Branch SSP office Islamabad.

The senior officers of Police including SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan, SP Rural Muhammad Ilyas, SP City Mustansar Feroz, SP Saddar Jamil Hashmi, SP Indurstrial Area Hassan Iqbal, all ASP/DSPs SHOs, Police commandos and other wings of Islamabad Police reached on the spot within seven minutes. It was mentioned in the SOP that reach the spot within seven minutes and cordon off the area and initiate search operation.

All the wings reached on the spot and took their positions within approach time. During the rehearsal, in suspected vehicle two persons escape call was also given. A Media corner was established on the spot to give the actual version of the police. Police officers were not aware before that the call is fake and it was just for rehearsal purpose.

Soon after the announcement of fake call, strict checking on entry and exit points started. After rehearsal SP Saddar Jamil Ahmad Hashmi and SDPO Secretariat Irum Abbasi in briefing said that such a rehearsal is essential to prepare for emergency situation and to ensure security in the federal capital. He appreciated all the wings approach time, adding that Police commandos performed well. IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat appreciated the Islamabad Police and other officers to reach the spot with in approach time.
