91% claim to use modern or traditional skin protection methods during winters in Pakistan

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan 91% claim to use modern or traditional skin protection methods during winters in Pakistan.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “During winters, skin becomes very dry. Do you use anything to protect your skin?” Responding to this 57% claim that they use cream or lotion to protect their skin, 24% claim to use oil, 2% rely on homemade remedies whereas 8% use soap or face wash. However 9% claim that they do nothing to protect their skin.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2708 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during January 08 – January 14, 2012. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
